Perform some necessary maintenance to banish the bugs and keep them away from your slider doors.

Bed bugs are small reddish brown insects with flattened bodies. Just soak the nest a little and duck back inside wait until the surprised wasps are gone or dead repeat if necessary then knock the nest down once it s empty. To prevent stains on your woodwork simply vacuum these and call it good. They have hind wings but they lay flat on their body and are poorly developed.

Here are some other possibilities for tiny creepy crawlies in window sills. That being said this is a surefire way to get rid of gnats near your drains. Don t pour bleach in a room with the door closed and keep all children and pets away. If you squash the mites and they leave a reddish stain they are most likely clover mites a common harmless but aggravating critter that tends to invade windows.

Once female bed bugs mate they seek the tiniest of cracks and crevices to nest. Their appearance signals their discovery of an opening in or around the outside frame that holds the doors in place. They only grow to be about 3 16 inch long and feed on blood. Nymphs are translucent and lighter in color.

Bleach can be just as harmful to humans as it is to bugs so be very careful when using this technique. Insects on the search for food or a mate may become trapped in the slider doors. I used kitchen cleaner on a few nests that were being started in my back doorway and it seemed to work pretty well as an impromptu bug spray. Look for them in mattress seams box springs and headboards under loose wallpaper behind light switch plates in the seams of upholstered furniture and under carpeting near baseboards.
